Gear list

What to bring…

Packing for a mountain adventure in Nepal is important as you may not be able to purchase the required items once you are trekking. You will enjoy the trip even more if you are well prepared and comfortable.

Thamel in Kathmandu is a popular district to buy or rent last-minute gear. Both cheap and pricier gear is available at local shops and renowned outdoor sports shops such as The North Face, Columbia, and Marmot, among others.

Below is a list of suggested items. Pack lightly, only bring what is required, and ensure that your gear will keep you warm, dry and comfortable! This list is only a guide and you can also review videos and gear lists online for additional ideas.

Remember that layering is key to regulating body temperature and feeling comfortable while trekking. Our list includes day and night clothes. Some trekkers like to change into their night clothes after finishing the trek for the day, and hang the day clothes until the morning. This way trekkers are always warm and dry once they stop trekking, while the night outfit remains reasonably clean.
